Along bridleways and trails, at a hippodrome, or on a ranch, with a Lipizzaner or a pony… equine enthusiasts have much to look forward to; indeed, Gorenjska provides opportunities suitable for novices and experienced riders alike. Individual trails and bridleways link together to create a circular route, connecting panoramic viewpoints with various places of natural and cultural heritage, by way of scenic byways.

Circular equestrian route

The so-called Zgornja Gorenjska (Upper Gorenjska) route features a 72 km long circular trail with multipurpose rest stops with tie stalls and hostelry service. A detailed map of the route can be bought at tourist information centres.

Guided tours

In the vicinity of Bled, day and half-day horseback trekking excursions are offered up into the valleys of the Radovna and Završnica streams, as well as across the plains below Stol, the highest summit of Karavanken range. Further to this, riding lessons are provided for beginners, as are shorter trips along the bridleways beside the Sava River as well as to the golf course near Bled. Use of Bled's hippodrome is also possible upon prior arrangement.
